Veterans Serving Veterans

The Tarrant County Veterans Council was formed to provide an organization through which veterans service organizations in the Tarrant County area could coordinate their efforts to better serve area veterans and their survivors. In addition to supporting our military and programs that sustain veterans, their spouses, widows and dependants, we are probably best known for hosting the annual Veterans Day Parade every year in Downtown Fort Worth, Texas.

The Veterans Council also provides a free hot-dog lunch for the staff of the VA Clinic on Rosedale Street twice a year to show our appreciation for the work that they do for veterans.

The Theme of this year's Veterans Day Parade is "Honoring the Military History of Fort Worth" and the parade is scheduled for Wednesday, 11 November, 2009.

Diversity Statement

"The Tarrant County Veterans Council was formed to provide a venue through which Veterans Service organizations in the Tarrant County area could coordinate their efforts to better serve area veterans and their survivors.

In this spirit, the Council accepts all members and member organizations without regard to color, creed, race, religion or sexual orientation.

The current makeup of the Council Board of Directors is: 80% Caucasian, 10% African-American and 10% female, which is a fair representation of the membership as a whole. The Council strives to sustain an atmosphere of mutual respect and welcomes the diversity that leads to an open exchange of ideas."
